Who We Are

Our Story

Jacobson, Magnuson, Anderson & Halloran, P.C. is one of the premier Indian-law firms in the United States. Located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, we enjoy a national reputation for excellence in providing legal services to Indian tribes and non-Indian commercial interests on Indian-law issues. Founded in 1983, Jacobson Law prides itself on its responsiveness to client needs, efficiency of service, and expansive expertise in Indian law. Our lawyers have extensive and diverse experience representing tribes, federal agencies, state and local governments, as well as private interests, and are committed to providing responsive, comprehensive, and cost effective services to their clients.

Indian law is a specialized, complicated, and multi-jurisdictional practice that encompasses not only a legal component, but a cultural component as well. Our experience in Indian Country and our ability to weave together the legal and cultural aspects of our clients' needs enables us to excel in the practice of Indian law. Half of our shareholders are members of federally recognized Indian tribes, so we appreciate cultural and ethnic diversity among our clients and understand the need to work cooperatively to ensure that our services respond to a community's specific needs.

Since 1983, our philosophy has remained quite simple: provide outstanding, yet affordable, legal services for Indian tribes and businesses, not just in Indian Country, but throughout the United States. This philosophy inspires everything we do.

About Our People

Our deeply rooted understanding of and respect for the traditional values of specific tribes can be traced to our attorneys extensive legal and personal backgrounds. Half of our shareholders are members of federally recognized Indian tribes, and all of us have made Indian law the centerpiece of our careers.
